Rare Location, fine fluorite. Rare Location, fine fluorite. From Leidan, Guizhou Province, China. I acquired this specimen from Peter Seroka, a famous German mineral collector and fluorite specialist; it comes with his label. For those of you interested in fluorite, you should try to get a copy of Peter's book Fluorit: Daten Fakten Weltweite Vorkommen (roughly, Fluorite, World-wide localities). It's a big three-ring bound collection of all the known fluorite localities world wide, plus detailed drawings of all the possible crystal forms of fluorite. A very ambitious project. The specimen is about an inch thick (2.5 cm) and about 4 X 3 inches (10 X 8 cm). The fluorites have good transparency and there are little pyrites here and there.
